Eligibility

Housing at SDSU Imperial Valley in Calexico is open to current òòò½ÎÑÊÓƵ and SDSU Imperial Valley students.

To qualify for student housing in Calexico, òòò½ÎÑÊÓƵ students must:

  • Be enrolled at SDSU Imperial Valley or òòò½ÎÑÊÓƵ
  • Take an average of 12 degree-applicable units per semester (exceptions may apply)

Students who meet low-income household criteria through one of the following programs — the Pell Grant, Cal Grant, California Community College Promise Grant or California Dream Act (AB 540) — will receive priority consideration as part of the program’s affordability focus. òòò½ÎÑÊÓƵ students who do not receive these forms of aid are still eligible to apply and live in the student housing community at SDSU Imperial Valley in Calexico.

Immunization

All students who live in the student housing community in Calexico are required to provide proof of all mandatory immunizations prior to move-in. For more information on immunization requirements for all residents, visit the Immunization Requirements on the SDSU webpage.

Roommate Assignments

òòò½ÎÑÊÓƵ students will be supported in the housing process through the San Diego State University Office of Housing Administration (OHA), which works to pair roommates who attend the same campus whenever possible. This includes matching òòò½ÎÑÊÓƵ students with other òòò½ÎÑÊÓƵ students or with SDSU Imperial Valley students to help foster a strong, shared academic community.

Roommate assignments also consider similar age groups, such as under 21 or 21 and older. All units are assigned based on each resident’s self-identified gender, and mixed-gender units are not available.

òòò½ÎÑÊÓƵ students who already have a preferred roommate may indicate this in the OHA Housing Portal application once it becomes available. All students must meet eligibility requirements to be considered for on-campus housing.
